Greeting from Director of Student Ministries

A video greeting from Lance Svendsen.

Monday, June 4 @ 6pm

Stanwich Student Ministry will be hosting a variety show to benefit the mission trip to Guatemala. What's the difference between a TALENT show and a VARIETY show, you ask? All that we need is variety! (But don't underestimate these kids-our church is FULL of talented students). So we'll be highlighting live actors, comedians, feats of athleticism, and more.

Students who are interested in participating with a talent big or small, serious or silly, should tell Lance through an excited text or email.

Student Ministry

Our goal is to have a program that makes each student feel comfortable and welcomed--all while introducing them to and pointing them to Jesus. Stanwich Church as a whole is a place where students can simply be themselves, meet new friends, and hear Gospel-centered messages relevant to middle and high school students.

The Stanwich Student Service meets weekly on Sunday mornings during the 10:45am service (10am in the summer). Stanwich Youth Group meets Wednesday Nights at 6:30pm from Sept- May. Our goal is to establish an environment where students look forward to coming back and inviting friends. Stanwich students also participate in a variety of outings, retreats, and trips (check out this video of one of our missions trips).

Wednesday Night Group

Middle school and high school students are encouraged to come out for our fall series, "What Do You Believe?" In this study we will take a look at the very basics of our faith, starting with what is sin and who is Jesus?
Our student program is for middle school and high school students. Following the inter-generational meal, the students gather in the youth room for games and discussion.

Confirmation Class

The Confirmation program at Stanwich aims to educate, equip, and inspire students to know Christ and make Him known.  This program is designed for eighth grade students, as well as any seventh graders who feel that they are ready.  Confirmation is also open to high school students who may have missed an opportunity for confirmation as a younger student.

Confirmation is a 9-session program beginning in the Fall that occurs during the 10:45am Sunday worship service.  Students enter the sanctuary with their families at 10:45am, then transition to the Youth Room downstairs after the Children's sermon.  Class concludes when the worship service concludes.  The class is taught by Pastor Nathan Hart and Student Ministry Director Lance Svendsen.

The Confirmation students are also strongly encouraged to attend a 2-night weekend retreat which enables the students to build relationships and to expand on what they learned in class.
