The relationship between God and humanity is a story of deliverance.  Because we live in a fallen world, we often find ourselves stuck: whether in literal slavery like the Israelites or when we become captive to patterns of sinful behavior.  In all cases, we need a deliverer, one who will rescue us and set us free.
