PRAYER MINISTRY
PRAYER MINISTRY
How can we pray for you?
What is Prayer?
Prayer is ongoing conversation with God that involves both listening and speaking. We can be assured through scripture that we can bring our circumstances and needs to God who is attentive to those who seek Him.
Prayer at Stanwich:
Stanwich Church believes in the power of prayer. If you need prayer, there are several ways that you can particpate in praying at Stanwich whether it is praying for yourself or family.
Prayer Chain
Stanwich has a team of prayer "warriors", which includes our pastors and staff, who are committed to praying for the needs of our church family. All requests are considered confidential unless otherwise indicated. To have a request put on the prayer chain, you can call the church office (203) 661-4420, or email Patricia in our church office.
Elder Prayer
James 5:14 says "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." First Sundays of every month, our Elders will be available for healing prayer after the service in the Prayer Chapel or at the front of the Sanctuary. You can also set up an appointment to meet with the Elders separately by emailing elders@stanwichchurch.org.
Inner Healing Prayer
Throughout Jesus’s ministry, he brought healing and liberty to those who were bound physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Discover how to experience this freedom and healing through listening and healing prayer. Sessions are confidential and facilitated by trained lay prayer ministry leaders. Please check out our FAQs to learn more and about how to request a prayer appointment.
Prayer Group
If you would like to pray with others on behalf of the church and church body we invite you to join us in-person on Sundays at 10:20 AM in the meeting room. Each week, we pray God's Word and his will for his church and community. To find out more, contact Gina Hantz, our Director of Spiritual Formation.
JourneyMates
Are you a woman interested in contemplative prayer? Every month, there is a group from Stanwich and the broader region who gather for individual and group prayer to learn to listen for God's prompting, go deeper in his Word, and to encounter him in our small group process. This is open to visitors and friends. Meetings are typically the last Monday mornings of each month from 9:15 to 12 PM during the academic year.
Please contact Lisa Michalski by email to sign up or for more information at lisamichalski@gmail.com. Pastor Heather is the Spiritual Director for the Greenwich chapter of JourneyMates.
