PRAYER MINISTRY

What is Prayer?

Prayer is ongoing conversation with God that involves both listening and speaking.  We can be assured through scripture that we can bring our circumstances and needs to God who is attentive to those who seek him.

Prayer at Stanwich:

Stanwich Church believes in the power of prayer. If you need prayer, there are several ways that you can particpate in praying at Stanwich whether it is praying for yourself or family.

Prayer Chain

Stanwich has a team of prayer "warriors", which includes our pastors and staff, who are committed to praying for the needs of our church family.  All requests are considered confidential unless otherwise indicated and requested to be not confidential.  To have a request put on the prayer chain, you can call the church office (203) 661-4420, or email Patricia in our church office.

Sunday Morning Prayer

During every Sunday morning worship service, our prayer teams are available to pray with you. On the first Sunday of each month, our Elders are also available for healing prayer following the service—in the Prayer Chapel or at the front of the Sanctuary.

Inner Healing Prayer

Throughout Jesus’s ministry, he brought healing and liberty to those who were bound physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Discover how to experience this freedom and healing through listening and healing prayer. Sessions are confidential and facilitated by trained lay prayer ministry leaders. Please check out our FAQs to learn more and about how to request a prayer appointment.

Corporate Prayer Gatherings

Pray with others on behalf of the church and church body at one of our weekly corporate prayer gatherings. Check times and locations here.

Daily Prayer Guide

Join our church family in daily prayer through the Stanwich Daily Prayer Guide. Each day provides a prayer prompt to help you intercede for our church, its people, and God’s work among us. Download the guide here.

JourneyMates

Are you a woman interested in contemplative prayer? Every month, there is a group from Stanwich and the broader region who gather for individual and group prayer to learn to listen for God's prompting, go deeper in his Word, and to encounter him in our small group process. This is open to visitors and friends. Meetings are typically the last Monday mornings of each month from 9:15 to 12 PM during the academic year.

Please contact Lisa Michalski by email to sign up or for more information at lisamichalski@gmail.com. Pastor Heather is the Spiritual Director for the Greenwich chapter of JourneyMates.
