PRAYER MINISTRY

How can we pray for you?

Sunday Intercession Prayer

Sunday Intercession Prayer Time

There is power when God’s people join forces in prayer.   We invite you into an opportunity for intercessors to pray together on Sunday mornings:

- Summer: Right after our 10AM service
- From the 2nd Sunday in September -June we invite you to join us between the 9 AM and 10:45 AM services. (10:20-10:40AM).

The goal of this Sunday prayer gathering is to unite and pray as one body. We will pray God’s plans for Stanwich Church as well as pray for our services, pastors, leaders, and congregants. Praying together on Sunday mornings will give a chance for those attending either of the two worship services to meet in the middle for corporate prayer. It is my hope and prayer that 2023 will be a year marked with renewed zeal and love for God and His people as we come together united in prayer.

Journey Mates

Monthly Prayer Group for Women

Are you a woman interested in contemplative prayer? Every month, there is a group of women from Stanwich and the broader region who gather for individual and group prayer to learn to listen for God's prompting, to go deeper in his Word, and to encounter him in our small group process.

This is open to visitors and friends. Meetings are typically the last  Monday mornings of each month from 10-12 pm during the academic year.

Please contact Lisa Michalski to sign up or for more information, lisamichalski@gmail.com. Pastor Heather is the Spiritual Director for the Greenwich chapter of JourneyMates.

Elder Prayer Opportunities

Elder Prayer Opportunity

We offer Elder healing prayer on the first Sunday after service. James 5:14-15 instructs us to seek prayer for healing and have the elders pray over the sick so that they may recover. We as a church want to press in for God’s healing poured out for us on the cross promised in Isaiah 53:5 that “By His stripes, we are healed”.

If you or someone you know is sick and in need of healing or prayer, please sign up to schedule prayer with one of our elders by emailing them at elders@stanwichchurch.org, and someone will connect with you to schedule a time.

PRAYER AT STANWICH:

Stanwich Church believes in the power of prayer. If you need prayer there are several ways that you can particpate in praying at Stanwich. Whether it is praying for yourself or family.

What is Prayer?

Prayer is ongoing conversation with God that involves both listening and speaking.  We experience the need for prayer daily and for several reasons.  In our daily lives, we can be assured through scripture, that whatever our circumstances or needs, God is attentive to people who seek Him through prayer.

Prayer Chain

Stanwich has a team of prayer "warriors", which includes our pastors and staff, who are committed to praying for the needs of our church family.  All requests are considered confidential unless otherwise indicated.  To have a request put on the prayer chain, you can call the church office (203) 661-4420, or email Patricia in our church office.

Elder Prayer

James 5:14 says "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."  First Sundays of every month, our Elders will be available for healing prayer after the service.

Inner Healing

In Luke 4:18, Jesus declares that He is uniquely anointed to bring healing to the broken places in people's hearts, to set captives free, and to lead prisoners into liberty.  Jesus gives sight to the blind and brings restoration into people's lives.  Discover how to experience this freedom and emotional healing through listening and inner-healing prayer.  Sessions are completely confidential and the healing prayer team is trained and experienced. For more information or to set up an appointment, please email gina@stanwichchurch.org.

Prayer Group

If you would like to pray with others on behalf of the church and church body we invite you to join our group on Wednesday mornings at 6:30 AM via conference call.  Each week we pray in areas that God leads us into. If you would like to join us call the dial-in number: 202-926-1192, use access code: 119748.  To find out more, contact Gina Choi our Director of Spiritual Formation.
