What if my hope leaves me heartbroken? What if my dreams leave me disappointed? What if things never change? These are just a few of the questions that can plague our minds and hearts as we wrestle with the present and anticipate the future. Through the exploration of Elizabeth’s story in Luke 1, author and marriage and family therapist Nicole Zasowski asks us to consider a different “what if…?” question: What if it’s wonderful? No matter where this holiday season finds you, Elizabeth’s story reminds us of a joy that is certain and a hope that is secure regardless of our circumstances, and illuminates practices that are available to all of us as we remember and celebrate God’s enduring goodness together.

Nicole Zasowski is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice in Greenwich, CT. She is the author of two books: What if It’s Wonderful? and From Lost to Found.
