GOD THE GREAT INVITER

Behold Christ. Become Like Christ.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

What if we saw what God asks of us—even his commands—not as demands to meet, but as invitations that call for a response? Too often, we experience pressure rather than invitation. Yet God is not driving us—he is a relentless inviter, patiently shaping us into the character of Jesus Christ.

That conviction is the heartbeat behind our four-week teaching course: God the Great Inviter—a curriculum for Christlikeness.

THE INVITATIONS WE'LL EXPLORE

Together, we'll explore four foundational invitations that shape a life of discipleship:

  • •    Consider the Call — Following Jesus
  • •    Come Close — Prayer
  • •    Come Home — Repentance
  • •    Cancel the Debt — Forgiveness

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This course is for followers of Jesus who desire more than information about God—they desire transformation by God. Whether you are seeking renewed spiritual growth or a deeper experience of prayer, repentance, and grace, these invitations provide practical pathways for becoming more like Christ.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

Each session is designed to help you:

  • •    Understand the Invitation — Learn what God is inviting you into—and what he isn't.
  • •    Recognize Your Resistance — Identify the internal barriers that keep you from responding.
  • •    Correct Distorted Views of God — Recognize and replace beliefs that weaken trust and obedience.
  • •    Practice New Responses — Learn how to respond to God's invitations with greater faith, surrender, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
  • •    Move Truth from Head to Heart — Engage in honest discussion that leads to deeper transformation.
  • •    Develop Habits of Grace — Cultivate practices that allow the Holy Spirit to form Christlike character over time.

THE HEART OF THE COURSE

Spiritual growth doesn't begin with striving, but with beholding—seeing Christ more clearly through each of these invitations, responding to his call, and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us into his likeness.

As we behold Christ, we become like Christ.
