Elders at Stanwich Church

The Elders are elected from within the congregation to assist the pastors and serve the church in the practical, spiritual, and temporal matters of the church body, and oversee and assist in the business and financial matters of the church body and facilities.   There are twelve Elders in total, each serving a three-year term. Email Elders

We take our direction from the word of God. According to the New Testament, Elders are responsible for the primary leadership and oversight of a church. The function and role of an Elder is well summarized by Alexander Strauch in his book Biblical Eldership:

 

“Elders lead the church [1 Tim 5:17; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 5:1–2], teach and preach the Word [1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9], protect the church from false teachers [Acts 20:17, 28–31], exhort and admonish the saints in sound doctrine [1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 3:13–17; Titus 1:9], visit the sick and pray [James 5:14; Acts 6:4], and judge doctrinal issues [Acts 15:6]. In biblical terminology, Elders shepherd, oversee, lead, and care for the local church”.

Matt Driskill

 

Matt and his family joined Stanwich in the fall of 2020.  He and his wife Natalie moved to Greenwich in late 2019 from Maryland, after leaving the active-duty Navy and joining the Air National Guard.  They have two young daughters, Reagan and Kathryn.

Jared Kohlberger

 

Jared and his wife Alexandra have been a part of Stanwich for over 15 years.  They live in Cos Cob with their three children: Jack, Mia, and Hunter.

Gina Smith

 

Gina has been a Stamford resident for eight yrs. and has attended Stanwich with her two children Tai and Max since 2016.  Max is still in Stamford, while Tai is in Wallingford. with her two children Quency & Quenleigh. 

Elizabeth Wolf

 

Elizabeth has been attending Stanwich with her family for almost 15 years. She is now an active member of the Student Ministry and Stamford Campus initiative. She lives in downtown Greenwich and loves spending time on the water and in the woods.

Laurie Curtis

 

Laurie has been at Stanwich with her husband Mark for 27 years. They live in Riverside, and have two grown children, Sam & Erin, who both live in New York City. 

Andrew Greco

 

Andrew has been attending Stanwich Church since 2010. He and his wife Lane live in Riverside.

Laura LaSpalluto

 

Laura has been attending Stanwich since 2014. She coordinates the Prayer Shawl Ministry and is a blogger, speaker and photographer. Laura and her husband Bill (Voth) live in Stamford.

Mary Ann O'Connor

 

About 17 years ago, Mary Ann was invited to attend Evensong by her teenage son, back when members of the Greenwich High School football team sat in the balcony every Sunday evening. Soon after, her husband Mike joined, and they have been part of the Stanwich family ever since. Their three sons are married now, and they are blessed with four grandchildren .

Kimberly O'Hara

 

Kimberly and her husband Brian have been a member of Stanwich for 8 years. Kimberly previously worked for the church as the Program Director. 

Jon Neitzell

 

Jonathan and his family joined Stanwich in the fall of 2022.  He and his wife Kiesha enjoy trying to keep up with their three children (Natasha, Sophia, Alexander) during their pursuits in work, school, lacrosse, and wrestling. 

Tim Lukes

 

Tim has been attending Stanwich since 2016.  He and his wife, Mónica, live in Greenwich with their two children Daniella and Andrew.

Gad Lim

 

Gad has been attending Stanwich since moving to Greenwich in 2018. He and his wife Kirby live in Riverside with their son and three daughters.
