PLAN YOUR VISIT

We believe that a good local church is the best solution to many of the problems in society. When isolation, division, and despair shape our lives, the church can provide the deep connections with God and with a loving community that our hearts long for.

We hope you will experience a sense of connection with God and community for yourself and children. We invite you to share our vision to know Christ and make him known.

Vision

To Know Christ and to Make Him Known

Mission

We are called to advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ in Fairfield and Westchester counties as a Christ-centered community rooted in Biblical truth, using gospel proclamation, intergenerational discipleship, Spirit-filled worship and prayer, leadership empowerment, and missional engagement,

for the glory of God.

OUR HISTORY

God’s plan for Stanwich is so much bigger than we ever imagined. Within our walls He has assembled a growing congregation with diverse talents and gifts, each playing a key role in the life of a back-country church that continues to step out boldly in faith to build His kingdom. Now we have received this amazing blessing of a beautiful new building right down the street from our original site. As we continue this next chapter of our history with gratitude and joy, we ask God to bless us with renewed faith, so that Stanwich will continue to be a light not only in the back country of Greenwich but in Stamford and beyond. That light is the love of Jesus Christ, and it will never go out.

OUR PASTORS

Chuck Davis

Transitional Co-Lead Pastor

Chuck has served in vocational ministry for over 35 years. He has served as a small church pastor in the U.S. and France, a missionary church planter in Mali, West Africa, and a seminary professor at Alliance Theological Seminary and other schools. From 2007-2018 he served as the Senior Pastor of Stanwich Church, and transitioned so that he could partner with his wife of 40 years, Dr. Ingrid Davis, in an itinerant ministry focused on the development and care of leaders called Global Lead.

Heather Wright

Transitional Co-Lead Pastor

Heather grew up in Greenwich and started attending Stanwich in her early 20’s.  She has served in many arenas, including on a church staff, teaching at and co-founding a graduate school, long-term care chaplaincy and directing a faith-based counseling center, Greenwich Center for Hope and Renewal. She was called to Stanwich in 2018 as Pastor of Care and Connection.  Heather and her husband Mark have three children (young adults), Douglas, Catie and Alyse.

Gina Hantz

Director of Spiritual Formation

Gina first came to Stanwich Congregational Church in 2017 as a pastoral intern before she became the Stamford campus director in 2018. Gina is passionate about helping people encounter God's love through the power of Word and prayer. She longs to see people saved, healed, transformed and fully walk in their God-given purpose. In her spare time, Gina enjoys traveling, writing songs and spending quality time with husband Graham and friends.

MUSIC

Although we seek to worship God every day in the way we live our lives, there is always something special that happens when we come together for corporate worship on Sundays.

Music has a way of drawing us into the presence of God.  Whether we are singing a traditional hymn that has been sung for hundreds of years or learning a new praise song, we seek to glorify God and praise Him through the use of song, instrument and voice. At Stanwich, we offer both traditional and contemporary styles of music at our Sunday services.

MEMBERSHIP

For us - and for you, we hope - membership at Stanwich means uniting with others who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and share the desire to live, learn and grow according to the teachings of the Bible, and become an active participant, letting God lead us as a faith community.
