Looking to serve and get connected in Stamford? On April 12, join the Stanwich Stamford Campus Team in its monthly service engagement at the Pacific House Men’s Emergency Shelter in the South End (597 Pacific Street). Since January, on the second Saturday of each month, the team has cooked for and served the men and shared the love of Christ. Sign up for a volunteer slot for the April 12 feeding. Future dates to consider are May 10, June 14 and July 12. Join us in the South End to “Know Christ and Make Him Known”!
On Saturday, April 12 Stanwich and Allen Temple AME Church from Mt. Vernon, New York will be partnering to distribute food and clothes to the homeless in New York City through Midnight Run. Pastor Hugh Marriott of Allen Temple is a former student of Chuck Davis at Alliance Theological Seminary and a former Verizon executive who is following God’s call to the ministry. Pastor Hugh just returned from the Stanwich Guatemala Mission Trip with one of his parishioners as one of many steps to engage his congregation in outreach and mission.
Parishioners can participate by donating clothes and toiletries in the church clothing bin plus sign up to provide bagged lunch items in Emmaus Hall at the Midnight Run display. There will also be an opportunity to sign up to prepare sandwiches on the evening of the Midnight Run from 6-8 PM in Emmaus Hall. Stanwich is excited to announce the third annual Men’s West Virginia Trip in partnership with Richard Williams and the men of Pivot Ministries, as well as World Vision Appalachia. Men are called to get dirty, lift, tote, sweep, and engage in fellowship, worship and feasting! The only necessary skill required is a heart to help but any light construction experience is helpful.
