Interested in learning more about the NYSUM Compassion Weekend March 16-18? Plan on joining Gail Friesen for an informational meeting on Sunday, March 4th at 10:15 a.m. or 4:00 p.m.
About the NYSUM Compassion Weekend: The New York School of Urban Ministry (NYSUM) is a short-term teaching and training center located in Long Island City, NY for Christians with a heart for urban ministry. Through a combination of urban training, onsite practical ministry and actually living in a city neighborhood, they train you to reach people in cities around the world for Christ. Groups come to NYSUM from across the United States, Canada and abroad for training.
Please indicate your interest by signing-up in Emmaus Hall or contact Gail Friesen. The deadline for reserving a spot is March 9 and the $190 participation fee is due on or before March 9. This fee is all inclusive for lodging, meals, and transportation. Contact Gail for scholarship availability.
It is a powerful time to see God open up the hearts of the hurting and also see God work in our lives as well. You don’t have to be an evangelist, know Scripture inside and out, or have won others to Christ…you just have to be open to serve. God will use you in new ways as you bring the love of God to hurting people on the streets, in shelters, and subways. (An experienced staff member from NYSUM will be with us at all times).
