The confirmation program is designed to bring students in the 7th and 8th grade into a real and active adult faith in Jesus Christ. During the two year program, students attend classes and take a more active role in the church.
Classes are designed to ensure that the participants develop a full understanding of the Christian faith and grasp what it means to be a member of the church through the five aspects of Christian faith: worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism and service. By the end of confirmation, students are ready to transition into the high school program, and continue their spiritual growth throughout their high school years.
Confirmation meets during our Youth Group Wednesdays at Stanwich. We begin with dinner at 6:30 and move into our program at 7:00 p.m. Each week the students will grow in their relationship with God either through large group teaching of our core Confirmation topics or small group discussions of how Jesus wants to be a part of our everyday life.
Confirmands participate in a fall retreat, and are confirmed at a Sunday service in May.
