Nothing on Earth: Finding Contentment in a World of Comparison

Everywhere we look, we see people who seem thinner, richer, or more successful than ourselves.  When we compare ourselves to others, we often feel discontentment, self-loathing, or even self-righteousness.  In this three-week series on the 73rd Psalm, we will discover that contentment cannot be found by measuring our lives against the models on TV or our friends on social networks.  True contentment is not found on Earth, but in Heaven, where our real treasure is.  Finding fortune there can brings us lasting contentment here.

Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away and here at Stanwich that means Pivot Sunday is coming!  The men from Pivot Ministries will be with us during all three worship services.  Richard Williams, the Director of Pivot, will be our preacher that day.  After the 10:45 service, there will be a luncheon in honor of the Pivot men in Emmaus Hall.

There are three ways you can be directly involved: Signup for these opportunities here.

1.   Provide groceries for the Pivot men.  Bags with an attached list of needed items are available at both campuses.  All contributions are gratefully appreciated. Please return your bag the same area where you picked them up. Either the rotunda at the Greenwich campus or the downstairs area in the Stamford campus.

2.   Sign up to prepare food for our luncheon.

3.   Sign up for to join the luncheon and share time and a meal with the  wonderful men of Pivot.  This is a great family event.
